There is a Great Need for Structural Inspections and Reconstructive Services: (for the structures and infrastructure for which our services are provided, go to o ur Structural Integrity Services page)1. Damages by recent hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, earthquakes, and tsunamis.
The 2011 tornado outbreaks in the central and eastern United States, resulting in hundreds of fatalities. The giant Japan (2011) and Indonesian (2004) earthquakes and tsunamis, plus the catastrophic quakes in Haiti, Turkey, China, Chile, New Zealand, and Myanmar, which altogether killed more than a half million people. Hurricane Katrina, which resulted in the great New Orleans levee failures, with more than 1,800 fatalities. The 2011 floods on the Missouri, Ohio, and Mississippi Rivers and their tributaries, including major levee breaks. The 2010 collapse of the Metrodome roof in Minnesota under the weight of heavy snow. 2. Aging and deterioration of bridges and other structures and infrastructure.
The fatal Gulf of Mexico oil rig explosion and the resulting massive oil spill. The fatal natural gas pipeline explosions in Allentown, PA and San Bruno, CA, plus other major pipeline explosions. The fatal coal and silver mine explosions and collapses in the U.S. (Kentucky, West Virginia, Idaho, Utah, and other states), plus New Zealand and China, and the near-fatal copper mine collapse in Chile, in addition to numerous mine collapses elsewhere around the world. We need to inspect, investigate, and determine the hazards and potential hidden earthquake or storm damage to many thousands of structures and a huge array of infrastructure throughout the U.S. and the world.....then repair, restore, or replace those structures and infrastructure that are found to be unsafe.
Recent History Channel programs, entitled The Crumbling of America and Inspector America, and several programs on ABC, CBS, and FOX highlighted the many threats to our lives and our way of life posed by deteriorating bridges, highways, dams, levees, natural gas pipelines, oil refineries, and other infrastructure. President Obama, in his September 8, 2011 Jobs Speech before Congress, urged funds of $447 billion, of which a sizeable portion should go to repair, reconstruction, and replacement of aging and deteriorating bridges, highways, and other infrastructure in the United States. What Structural Integrity Solutions Can Do: Structural Integrity Solutions, Inc. offers a great variety of engineering, scientific, and environmental services, including structural integrity inspection and investigation, construction defects analysis, seismic hazards determination, and foundation failure analysis ..... plus design, construction, reinforcement, restoration, replacement, and other remedial services for: (excluding nuclear power plants), underground water pipes, and other infrastructure.
